Charlotte Faye Sturgill Gilliam, age 72, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, entered into rest peacefully, Saturday evening, August 24, 2019, at Woodland Oaks in Ashland, Kentucky. She was born February 12, 1947, in Carter County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Burl and Goldie Phillips Sturgill. Charlotte was a charter member of the Kiser Branch Old Regular Baptist Church and had retired from Carter Caves State Park. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, shopping, reading, going to church, daily activities with her friends at Woodland Oaks and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Kylie. Charlotte is survived by her two children, Wes Gilliam (Chelle) of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Tammy Jo Gilliam of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David Sturgill (Marilyn) and Lonnie Sturgill (Phyllis) all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and one granddaughter, Kylie Elizabeth Gilliam of Olive Hill, Kentucky. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, church members, family and friends who will sadly mourn her passing. Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, August 26, 2019 and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Elder Gary Blevins and Elder Ishmel Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Wes Gilliam, Tim Sturgill, Lonnie Sturgill, Dwight Sturgill, Rick Blevins and Mitch Sturgill will serve as pallbearers. David Sturgill will serve as honorary pallbearer.
