Obituary
Charles Ivan “Corky” Hale, 88-year-old White Oak resident, passed away at his home on late, Saturday, August 24, 2019. He was born on October 26, 1930 in Rentiesville, Oklahoma to Phelan George Hale and Georgia Ella (Creagar) Hale. Corky worked for Martin brother’s florist out of high school, then later for the Craig County Conservation District for several years, before becoming a full-time farmer-stockman. He served on the board of the White Oak Cemetery Association for many years. He loved to visit with folks and watch baseball in his spare time. Corky was a member of the White Oak Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Berlie L. Hale, Phelan George Hale and Darrell Hale, Sr. Corky is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, a host of friends and other relatives. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2018 at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral Home Chapel in Vinita. The celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the White Oak Baptist Church, with Pastor Leland Bartlett officiating. Interment will be held later at the White Oak Cemetery. Friends may give to the White Oak Cemetery Association. Arrangements are under the care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Service of Vinita.
