Lucile Smith Yett October 10, 1923- November 19, 2006 Lucile Smith Yett of Waco passed away Sunday, November 19, 2006 at a local nursing home. Services will be at 11:30 a.m., Monday, November 20, 2006 at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Frank Mangum and Rev. Harold Federwisch officiating. Lucile was born October 10, 1923 in Waco to Charles Stevenson Smith and Addie Bell Watkins Smith. She was a member of St. Albans Episcopal Church and worked for American Amicable Life Insurance Co. for 30 years. Lucile graduated from Palestine High School in 1941 and married Walter Hamilton Yett, Jr. on June 6, 1944 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Waco. She volunteered her time for the Waco Historical Homes and Vanguard School. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Stevenson Smith and Addie Bell Watkins Smith, her husband Walter Hamilton Yett, Jr., her daughter JoAnn Yett Lee and son-in-law Jerry Mark Lee. She is survived by son Kenneth Yett and beloved daughter-in-law Mildred L. Yett, granddaughter Laura Lee Slack and husband, Joel, brother W.D. Smith, and sisters Annie Hunt and Margie Crider of Waco. Honorary pallbearers are E.E. Dutch Schroeder, Rev. Harold Federwisch, Kent Mathis, Orlando Rodriguez, Jr., Calvin Adams, Johnny M. Gonzales, Ramon Casteneda, Dr. Marvin Lamb, and David L. Yett. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or St. Paul’s Episcopal School.
