SENDON, MARY Mary Kemendo Sendon, age 100, died on December 3, 2001. Services will be held at 11:30AM Saturday, December 8th at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Dr. W.J. Wimpee, Dr. Herbert Reynolds, Rev. Monsignor Mark Deering and Amy Costello officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00PM Friday, December 7th in the Garden Room. She was born on August 13, 1901 to Chris and Josie Kemendo. She was preceded in death by her husband Andres Sendon, brother Joseph Kemendo, sisters Josephine Kemendo and Olga Allison, granddaughter Mary Susan Morse Iosue, sons-in-law, Richard Morse and Kenneth Midenberger. Mary graduated from Waco High School in 1919 and Baylor University in 1922. She later completed a Masters Degree in English Literature in 1932. She taught English, Latin and Spanish in the Waco area, including Waco High School, Lacy Lakeview High School, LaVega High School, and North Junior High School. Upon her retirement she taught at Reicher High School for five years. She and her husband were active member of Seventh and James Baptist Church. Throughout her life she frequently assumed leadership roles in school and civic organizations including the City Council of the PTA, The Pan American Round Table, South Junior PTA, and Band Parents, and Waco High School PTA and Bandparents. In addition she was a member of the Baylor Round Table for seventy-nine years. She and her husband sponsored Pi Alpha Lamda sorority PALS at Baylor, which in the 1970s became Chi Omega. She and her husband were active members of Seventh and James Baptist Church. The family wishes to express their sincerest thanks to all the physicians, nurses and other caregivers who cared for her during her last illness, and to her special friends Mary Galloway, Joan Branyon, Paul and Jeanette Concilio, Dr. Herbert Reynolds, and Joyce and Bedford Edwards. Mary is survived by daughters, Dolores Morse of San Antonio and Andrea Mildenberger of Santa Fe, New Mexico, granddaughter, Linda Morse Barsodi of Placentia, California, great grandson, John Patrick Barsodi of Orange, California, great grandchildren, Carrie Barsodi Owen and husband, Scott of Reno, Nevada and great-great granddaughter, Mason Owen of Reno, nephew Robert Allison of San Antonio and grandsons-in-law, Frank Iosue of Tucson, Arizona and John Barsodi of Orange, California. Pallbearers will be Paul Concilio, Jr., Paul Concilio III, Carl Bryant, Mathew Bryant, Mike Bryant, Mike Leskin, and Chris Rosser. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillcrest Community Hospice, 3215 Pine Ave., Waco, Texas 76708, Mary and Andres Sendon Chi Omega Alumnae Scholarship Fund, Baylor University, P.O.
