Brooks Winston Manry Conroe, Texas Obituary

Brooks Winston Manry

Brooks Winston Manry joined our Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 67 on Wednesday, August 14, 2019. Brooks was born in Houston, Texas to now deceased parents John T. Manry III and Marie Brooks Manry on December 11, 1951. He graduated from Bellaire High School as a proud member of the baseball team, and subsequently attended the University of Texas at Austin. Brooks had many careers throughout his life, including musician, singer, IT customer service representative, full-time fisherman, father, and grandfather. Brooks is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 24 years, Kay Manry, daughter Dr. Jennifer Asmussen (husband Neil Asmussen), son Dr. Joseph Gajan III (wife Taylor Gajan), sisters Judy Klein (husband Bill Klein), Martha LeFevers (husband Kyle LeFevers), and the joys of his life, grandchildren Marin, Haddie, Wyatt, and Brody. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and The Heim Family. Brooks enjoyed being near the water, whether this involved boating, fishing, or visiting with friends. He enjoyed spending evenings at Mike's house in Kemah, weekends with friends at the Fish Camp, four wheeling with Gary, and fishing with John. Brooks also enjoyed watching college football, particularly the Texas Longhorns and Houston Cougars, lived for a reason to BBQ for his family, and always looked for an excuse to share a bowl of Blue Bell ice cream or a slice of red velvet cake with his girls. He was passionate about reading, which included everything from the local newspaper, to Tom Clancy novels, and Newsweek magazine. However, his greatest joy in life was being surrounded by his family, his dogs, and playing with his grandchildren in the backyard. Brooks, you lived your life large and the foot prints you leave behind will be hard to fill. You will forever and always be within our hearts.
