Elmer Lamont Crosby Jr 2/16/1926 ~ 8/15/2019 age 93 Elmer Crosby, Jr, of Houston, TX went to heaven at the end of the day on the 15th of August after serving his Jesus for 93 and a half years. His son Elmer III was by his side. He was born in Orleans Parish, New Orleans. LA. He was the only son of Elmer Lamont Crosby, Sr. (6/18/1900-3/7/1982), and Gladys Wadsworth (4/16/1905- 4/19/1995). Both were born in Pennsylvania. After WW1, they came south to New Orleans under employment of Southern Railway. Elmer Jr attended Frontier HS in New Orleans, and LSU in Baton Rouge, LA. At the age of 18, He was drafted into WWII and had two European Theatre Ribbons. He returned to LSU and earned a BA on 6/2/1951. Like his parents, he was very active in their church and visited his mother while she worked at B.B.I. (now New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary). At the age of 15 he gave his life to the service of Jesus Christ. He earned a Master of Religious Education Major Music on 5/2/1951. He also earned a Master of Sacred Music from NOBTS on 5/17/1957. He married Lucille Pat Bradford on August 10, 1948 at Queensboro Baptist Church, Shreveport, LA. He was married for almost 56 years. He served many churches in Kentucky, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas. He also worked 50 years for Herff Jones selling Robes and Caps and Gowns. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, wife Lucille Pat Bradford (12/13/1926-3/22/2004), and granddaughter Kathryn Renee Crosby (9/4/83-1/27/84). He is survived by his four children, Chris Robinson, of Flower Mounds, TX; Cathy Dumbravo (husband Jim), of Lewisville, TX; Herbert Crosby, and Elmer Crosby, III of Houston, TX. He is survived by five grandchildren, Patricia Robinson; Reecia Robinson; Eric Crosby (wife Joy); Kimberly Crosby; and Dustin Dumbravo (wife Rosalyn). He is survived by eight great grandchildren, Austin Frey; Hunter Crosby; Makia Richardson; Dakota Crosby; Isaiah Dumbravo; Cole Crosby; Kaden Richardson; and Ileana Dumbravo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children. Interment will be next to Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Crosby Sr., and Wife Pat at Beauregard Cemetery, DeRidder, LA, on Saturday, August 24, at 1 p.m. Information on a Memorial Service to be held at Spring Woods Baptist Church, Houston, Tx. will be announced after plans are made. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Spring Woods Baptist Church Music Department.
