William W. “Bill” Karlzon, 79, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019 after a long illness. Born in Rockford on May 9, 1940, son of Walter B. and Mae H. (Peterson) Karlzon and lived his entire life in the Rockford Area. After high school he worked and became a journeyman carpenter. He decided to change professions and enrolled in Rockford College and then the UW Madison. Bill became an HVAC designer for industrial, commercial, and institutional buildings and worked for various consultations firms before retiring in 1992. Survivors include his children, Jennifer Karlzon of Beloit, WI., Jeffrey Karlzon of Madison, WI., and Joshua Karlzon of Loves Park; grandchildren, Henry and Wilameana; and caregiver and companion, Robert Rinedollar. Family wishes to thank Northern Illinois Hospice for their care. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Northern Illinois Hospice. A celebration of Bill’s life at Willwood Burial Park will be held at a later date to be determined.
