Jack R. Geiwitz

OXFORD/MONONA-Jack R. Geiwitz, age 82, of Oxford and formerly of Monona, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, at his home. He was born on Aug. 23, 1933, in Hokah, Minn., the son of Roy and Ella Geiwitz. Jack served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a 30 year veteran of the Monona Police Department, retiring as a Sergeant in 1988. Following his retirement, he enjoyed working for over 15 years at Gunderson Funeral Homes. Jack loved the north woods, fishing and watching the wildlife from his front yard. Most important to Jack was spending time with his family and friends. Jack is survived by his wife, Londa of Oxford; son, Kevin (Angie) Geiwitz of Brodhead; step-daughter, Amber Brouillet of Florida; grandchildren, Tami (Richard) Tracy, Teri Geiwitz, and Kayla, Tyler, Declan and Drake Geiwitz; and great-granddaughter, Nicole. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosemary; sons, Bobby and Terry; grandson, Michael; and great-grandson, Michael. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 1 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, followed by military rites. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, and from noon until the time of the service on Friday.
