Millie J Anderson Obituary

Millie J. Anderson, 56, of Pampa, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at home with her beloved family by her side. She was born on March 18, 1963 to David and Annette Sutton in Groom, Texas.

As a lover of life, Millie took every opportunity available to make the world a better place. She firmly believed in “paying it forward” and would do so without batting an eye or contemplating what position it might put her in. She, herself, would do without in order to make sure others had what they needed. She truly made the world a better place and was a gift from God. At the age of 24, she met Mike Anderson and within three days they were engaged. They married on August 21, 1988 and had spent the last 34 years together. Millie had an amazing work ethic that her late father instilled in her. Her last occupation was as a logistics and disaster relief coordinator with FEMA. She was absolutely mortified of flying in an airplane, but her love of helping others was more important; therefore, she had to fly. Another of Millie’s amazing traits was her ability to walk into a room of complete strangers and walk out with many new friends. She knew no strangers and her sense of humor was impeccable. Not only was she witty, but she was also a math whiz and forget about playing Jeopardy with her because she didn’t lose. As loving and kind as she was, she could also be ferocious and very protective. You definitely wanted her as a friend and not an enemy as she would not allow anyone to harm her family and friends even though she was a card-carrying member of the Little People! Although she had a small stature, she had a very big heart and fierce love for animals. It wasn’t unheard of for Millie to spend her last dime and do without in order to take care of animals. Her amazing love and generosity will be terribly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her father; brother, Danny Shropshire and niece, Kim Rowell.

She left behind to cherish a lifetime of memories her best friend and soulmate, Mike Anderson of Pampa; mother, Annette Bradley of Pampa; sisters, Sonja Hair of Hope, Arkansas, Linda Lamb of Pampa; three grandchildren, Jake, Madison and Morgan; two kitty cats, Gracie and Cocoa and 4 puppies, Mindie, Chloie, Sunnie and Stormie.

As per Millie’s wishes, no services will be scheduled. The family has entrusted the cremation care of their beloved Millie to Winegeart Funeral Home.
