David Paul Moore Obituary

David Paul Moore, 60 of Shinnston, received his ultimate healing on August 9,2019 after a long battle with Liver Disease. He is the son of Richard "Dick" Moore and the late Ruth Moore. On June 23,2004 he married his wife, Amy and together they have 7 children. Devon Victoria Moore, Audrey Marie Moore and her companion Mark Ritter, Kearstyn Shea Richards and companion Ethan Long. MaKynzie Grace Richards, Dana Colleen Moore, Elijah Paul Samuel Moore, and Isaiah Alexander Moore, his precious granddaughter Indea June Shreves.
Also surviving are two brothers, Carl Moore and Bobby (Kim) Moore. Mother in Law(s) Donna (George) Skinner and Margaret Wanstreet (and the late Charles Wanstreet), nieces and nephews, Kattie, David and Amelia Moore, Donald (Maggie)Everett and others, cousins, Terri (John) Egress and Marcia (Mark) Deberry and several others, and a special Aunt whom he loved dearly, Wilma Moore.

Dave was a faithful member of Jewel City Church. He truly loved his church family! Dave was a 1977 Graduate of Bridgeport High School and a graduate of Devry Institute of Technology. He spent most of his working years at Philips Medical Systems as a Field Service Engineer. He was proceeded in death by grandparents, Cecil and Nellie Blackwell Moore, Paul and Louise Lynn Straight and Leo Miles, one nephew, Scotty Moore and a special uncle Nelson "Unc" Moore.

Dave was diagnosed with NASH Liver Disease and Liver Cirrhosis in 2003. In 2017, he began treatment at UPMC in Pittsburgh. He was put on the wait list for transplant. It was then that Dave's Army: Life Is Worth The Fight began. After two attempts that were unsuccessful, he was sent home on hospice. We refused to give up. After two more centers said no, we decided to travel to the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. He was listed on the transplant list there. Within five days, he received 4 offers. On the last offer he went to the operating room. Due to complications during the surgery, he passed away.

One of Dave's biggest wishes was for all of his friends and family to become an Organ Donor to help save lives!
The family would like to thank all of our families, friends, church family and all of Dave's Army for all the Love, Prayers and Support on this Journey. We couldn't do this without you.

The family will receive friends at Jewel City Church, 511 Jewel City Blvd., Meadowbrook, from 1-9pm, Monday, where funeral services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, August 20 with Pastor Robert L. Shingleton officiating. Interment will be in the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family at the funeral home.
