Calais & Presque Isle – Theodore Joseph Michaud, 86, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Calais Regional Hospital. Ted was born in Eagle Lake on October 30, 1932, son of Thomas and Evelyn (Gagnon) Michaud. Ted worked at Bess Eaton Donut Shop in Connecticut and also owned a variety store in Bristol, CT called Michaud’s Market where he sold lots of candy to neighborhood children. He also worked at Indian Head Mill in Presque Isle and later in life at Leon Williams Lumber Co. in Eddington. Ted loved his large family and enjoyed candle pin bowling. In addition to his parents, Ted was predeceased by seven brothers, Rene, Lionel, Camille, Roland, Philip, Benoit and Thomas; and his special friend and companion, Aurore Duplessie. Surviving are his daughter, Janice O’Neal and husband Tom of Calais; two grandchildren, Brian O’Neal and wife Kathleen Wallace of Eastport, and Jessica Woodman and husband Levi of Pembroke; two great-grandchildren, Aidan and Daphne Woodman; two sisters, Lucille Janowski of Portland, and Gilda Simms of CA; and many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Ted’s wishes, there will be no services. A private burial will take place at a later date. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
