William Sherman Smith 63 passed away Sunday April 13, 2008 at 9:00 PM at St. John�s Regional Medical Center, Joplin, MO. He was born July 27, 1944 in Diamond, MO the son of William Sherman Smith Jr. and Margaret Ellen (Davis) Smith. His parents preceded him in death. He married Fusayo Minami on July 27, 1965 in Tokyo, Japan. She also preceded him in death. He served in the United States Navy in Explosive Ordinance and Disposal. He served in the Vietnam War and retired after 27 years of faithful service. He was a Member of the EOD Association of the Navy and the VFW Post 2590. One daughter Kyaren Paulino, his granddaughter, Shelby Ai Paulino, both of Carthage, MO, 3, sisters, Gloria Diggs, Carthage, MO, Sherlene Ferguson, Asperia, CA, Shari Carpenter, Weston, MO, and 1 brother William Leon Smith, Miami Beach, FL survive him. The body has been cremated. Graveside memorial services will be held Friday April 18, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Park Cemetery, Carthage, MO. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of the Knell Mortuary.
