Ronald Scarpinati, age 77 of Athens, passed away August 15, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ron, a Manhattan native, moved to Cairo 53 years ago. Ron was employed by the Albany County Printing Department for 31 years as the Printing Coordinator. He retired in 1998. Beloved husband of 58 years, Ron was a true family man. With his wife Lorraine by his side, Ron enjoyed working on home projects and spending time with his children and grandchildren---holidays especially. Ron enjoyed the simple things in life like barbecuing, eating ice cream, and having a beer after a long day of work. Ron will be remembered for his devotion to his wife, his family, and his kindness to all around him. Loving father of Chris (Amber), Teresa Gallo (Peter), Ellen Sherman (Jeff), Debra Bultmann (Frank), Andrew, and Donna de Oliveira (Carlo). Twin brother to Andrew, cherished grandfather (Papa) of 11 grandchildren and great grandfather of 2 great grandchildren and uncle to numerous nephews and nieces. Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 19th from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, 139 Jefferson Heights, Catskill. A prayer service will then be conducted at 5:00 pm by Fr. Scott VanDerveer. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
