Rex W. Chandler, 77, of Broken Bow, OK, passed away December 17, 2014, at his childhood home in Broken Bow. He was born May 22, 1937, in Idabel, OK, the son of Rex Arthur and Evelyn Vicksburg Mullins Chandler. Rex held a Doctrine of Pharmacy and owned and operated Chandler Hewitt Drug in Idabel from 1960 to September 2013. Rex served as State Senator from January 1989 to January 1993, he was a former president of the Idabel Jaycees, and was a member of the Idabel City Council. Rex had served on the Broken Bow School Board and was a fan of OU football. Rex was also a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity at O.U. He was a member of Community Players in Idabel, participated in Owachita Plays. He enjoyed sponsoring summer baseball. Family and friends remember Rex as a tremendous giver and a man that cared for others before himself. Rex leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Brad Chandler and wife, Christie, of Mena, AR, Russell Chandler, of Broken Bow, OK; daughters, Tracey Moore and husband, Rodger, of Idabel, OK, Erica Chandler and fiancé, Josh, of Plano, TX; brother, Granville Chandler, of Holly Hollow, OK; grandchildren, Chad, Courtney and Ashton; nieces and nephews, Chris Chandler and wife, Sherri, Cliff Chandler, Brent Chandler and wife, Joshalyn, Paul Chandler and wife, Missy, Cheryl Parker and husband, Gordon, Catherine Rogers and husband, Tim, and Claire Chandler; special caregiver, Jennifer McCoy and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Chandler; and twin brother Paul Chandler and wife, Pat. Cemetery: Broken Bow Cemetery, Broken Bow, OK
