Donald Ray Anderson

Donald Ray Anderson passed away at age 93, on August 13, 2019. Don was a sailor, husband, father and avid golfer. He was married to Hazel for 70 years, 11 months and 8 days. He has 3 children, 8 grand children, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He loved animals, especially dogs. In fact, it was Hazel's dog that convinced her to marry him. Don lived a full life. His only regret was that he thought he was too hard on his children. He loved to golf and played every week until he was 92 years old. Don retired from the Navy in 1967. While in the service he went on many cruises. The one he talked most about was the Mediteranian cruise. He loved Spain and it's people. He was stationed on Midway Island in the 60's and was fascinated with the birds there. He talked about a ferry tern that followed to work every morning. He loved all kinds of music, from classical to country and fashioned his own stereo system using the best components available. He was also very talented with wood and made numerous items. He would build it and Hazel would apply the finishing touches. He even built Hazel a small workshop for her arts and crafts. Don was loved by everyone who met him and will truly be missed by all. Rest in Peace, Don. You are loved and missed.
