Lucille A. Riel, age 84, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2019. Survived by her five daughters Dianne (Steve) Dickey of Chico, CA, Jeanne Riel of Shorewood, IL, Judy (Scott) Cleaver of Joliet, IL, Karen (Robert) Donnelly of Kenosha, WI and Roberta Riel of Shorewood, IL; seven grandchildren Amanda, Melissa, Loretta, Stephen, Bryon, Katherine and Robert; four great-grandchildren Kira, Lillian, Phons Scott and Oliver; her sister Julia Patricia Hinton and her sister-in-law Shirley Skuban. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by her husband Robert Riel; her parents Joseph (Mary) Skuban; her siblings Joseph, Martin, Ann, Mary, Ceil and Agnes. Lucille wore many hats during her lifetime; she was a loving wife being married to her husband for over 50 years, a nurturing mother to five girls and multiple pets, an exceptional grandma and great-grandma, and a wonderful sister and friend. Lucille will always be remembered as a fun, caring, and incredibly talented woman. Lucille spent her lifetime sharing her hobbies and knowledge with family and friends. She grew orchids, crafted jewelry, painted beautiful pictures, created amazing stained-glass masterpieces, and sewed stunning quilts throughout her life. Lucille’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones, just as her many works of art will always be cherished and never forgotten. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
