<p>Tonya L. Nixon, 67, of New Castle passed away the morning of August 9, 2019 at her residence.</p><p><br></p><p>Born in Youngstown, Ohio on March 31, 1952 she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Susie Lawrence.</p><p><br></p><p>Tonya was a graduate of Harding Business College.</p><p><br></p><p>Tonya was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Nixon in November 1997.</p><p><br></p><p>Tonya attended Prevailing Word World Outreach Center.</p><p><br></p><p>She enjoyed movies, and old school music. Tonya loved spending time with family, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>Tonya is survived by her children, Angelique (Craig) Smith, Jacqueline (Terry) Werner, Channon Nixon, Nicole Nixon, her brothers, Robert Keyes, John Lawrence, sisters, Marshel (Alex) Alexander, Shela King, Toni (Wesley) Bruce, twenty one grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her parents and husband, Tonya was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Lawrence, grandson, Marcus Anderson and great grandchild, Journi.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be on Thursday 11:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. at the Ed &amp; Don DeCarbo Funeral Home &amp; Crematory, 941 South Mill St.</p><p><br></p><p>A Home Going service will be celebrated on Thursday at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. Apostle David Young Sr. of Prevailing Word World Outreach Center will officiate.</p><p><br></p><p>Burial will be at Parkside Cemetery.</p><p><br></p>
