Gary L. Jones, 73, of Sherburne, NY, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019 at his home. He was born in Hargerstown, MD on May 5, 1946 and received his education in the local schools. In 1976 he moved to Denver, CO. and worked as a security guard for 4 years. After the birth of his daughter he moved to Sherburne and worked at Proctor & Gamble for over 20 years until his retirement. On September 5, 2009 he married Debra Jipson in Earlville. Gary also was a former volunteer for the Sherburne Fire Department and the Emergency Squad. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved his tractors and woodworking. Gary also loved his cats and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Debra; one daughter, Tammie Carpenter and her children Kelsey & Dalton; three step-daughters, Erica Stadelmann and her children Lily, Emma, and Autumn, Pat Yaddow and her son Logan, and Jennifer Burpee and her son Landon; two sisters, Kay and Gloria; and several nieces and nephews. Gary was predeceased by two sisters, Linda and Darlene. Friends and family are invited to the Celebration of Life which will be held on Sunday August 18, 2019 from Noon to 4PM at Magro's Banquet Hall, 110 Sanitarium Rd., Sherburne, NY 13460. Arrangements made by the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, NY, 13460. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
