Donna Jean Smothers Jordan, 75, of Fayetteville, Georgia passed away on August 11, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born in Pensacola, Florida on March 19, 1944 to the parents of the late Richard K. Smothers and Frances Eloise Lanham Smothers. She was married to Russell William Jordan on September 7, 1966 in Pensacola, Florida. Donna graduated from University of Rhode Island with a degree in pharmacy in 1968. The couple moved to Georgia in 1970 where Donna was an active member of the community through her church, the schools, and her beloved super secret PEO organization. She is survived by her husband, Russell William Jordan; her three children, Kirsten Jordan Hampton (Heath) of Kathleen, Georgia, Nicole Jordan (David Large) of Fayetteville, Georgia, Danielle Jordan (William Hearn) of Douglasville, Georgia; her six grandchildren, Jordan Hampton, Kathleen Hampton, Joshua Hampton, Isabella Large, Caroline Large, Juliette Large; and her sisters Mary (Rhett) Farrior of Dadeville, Alabama and Lois Ann (Chris) McLean of Dothan, Alabama. Family visitation will be held at Mowell Funeral Home in Peachtree City, Georgia on August 15, 2019 from 6 - 8 pm. The funeral service will be held at Mowell Funeral Home in Peachtree City, Georgia on August 16, 2019 at 2 pm. She will be interred at Barrancas National Cemetery Pensacola Naval Air Station at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations in her name to any military charity, such as Wounded Warrior Project.
