Charles Alan Carter Guilford, Connecticut Obituary

Charles Alan Carter

Alan died Friday afternoon on August 9, 2019. He was 92 years old. He passed seven months after his wife, Virginia Carter, died whom he had been married to for 57 years. He had been in nursing home care for the last 3 years. Previously, Alan and Ginny lived for 50 years in their home in Middletown CT. Alan was a lifelong artist, jazz aficionado and avid fan of classic movies. He was a very sweet man with a smile, hello and caring for all that he came across. He was not known to complain about just about anything ever. He was also a US Navy Veteran serving in the photography lab at US Navy Air Station in Pensacola Florida during World War 2. He spent decades with Ginny painting and selling their original paintings at summer art shows along the New England shoreline. They enjoyed summers in their cozy cottage with lots of family coming and going in Leetes Island, Guilford CT. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and their descendants.
