Timothy Gavin

Timothy Dale Gavin, 72, of Bloomington, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Monroe Hospital. Tim was born September 22, 1946 in Bloomington, IN and was the son of the late Pat Gavin and Lorena E. (McKinney) Purcell. He was a 1964 graduate of Bloomington High School and later worked at RCA and was a retired painter. Tim was a member of AMVETS Post 2000 and loved his Harley and riding motorcycles, NASCAR and fishing. Survivors include his wife Judy Gavin; daughter, Roxanne Gavin; step son, Jim Holbrook; sister, Diane Purcell; grandchildren, Stevanie and Jeremy, step grandchildren, A.J., Cameron, and Sarah, along with several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Joan Creech and brother Carl Gavin. Services for Tim will be 1:00 pm Thursday, August 15, 2019 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard. Rev. Beth Vanskyver will officiate the service and burial will follow at Greene County Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 am until service time at The Funeral Chapel.
