D. Elaine Chandler, 75, of Warren, passed away from complications related to Parkinson’s disease on August 11, 2019 at the Sussman House with her family by her side. She was born on May 6, 1944 in Quincy, Massachusetts, to G. Vernon Jordan and Dorothy (Clark) Jordan. Elaine attended Warren Grade School, Warren High School, the Eastern Nazarene College, Millerville University in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and the Bangor Theological Seminary in 2009. She was employed by the Mennonite Board of Missions, the Catholic Charities as a case worker, Pals, and was a co-pastor at the First Baptist Church of St. George. Elaine was a music leader, enjoyed piano playing and singing, reading, cooking, and hostessing many meals for family and church. She was a member of the St. George Missionary Society and did community service through the Macedonian Ministries, Faith At Work. Elaine obtained a Masters of Art Degree, and was a Pastor Emeritus from the First Baptist Church of St. George. She is predeceased by her father, Reverend G. Vernon Jordon, her mother Dorothy Clark Jordan, son Richard Vernon Wheeler. Elaine is survived by her husband Reverend Walden Chandler of Warren, daughter Amie Lynn Wheeler and her partner Carol Pokladok of China, adopted daughter, Bonnie Musial of Thomaston, sister Susan Wilkes and her husband Keith of Brunswick, nephews Derick Mallard of Brunswick, Robert Wilkes of Durham and niece Heather Wilkes of Jacksonville, Florida, and cousin John Arthur Clark of Pt. Orange, Florida. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Hall’s of Waldoboro, 949 Main Street, in Waldoboro. A service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church at Wiley’s Corner, 15 Snows Point Road, in St. George, with Dr. Reverend Linwood Welch and Josh McPhail officiating.
