Lyle Edward Caughel Sr. 70, of Lynn Township, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019, at McLaren Port Huron Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Goodells October 7, 1948, son of the late Cecil and Ila (Rourke) Caughel. His marriage to Debra Nelson was March 3, 1984, in Georgia. Lyle was an avid fisherman. He never met a stranger and he was always willing to help family or friends. Surviving in addition to his loving wife Debra of 35 years are his two sons, Raymond Caughel of Lynn Township and Lyle (Leann) Caughel of Brown City; five grandchildren, Bobbie, Lisa, Lyle, Alex, and Alisha; 4 great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Skilynn, Melissa, and Nicholas; brothers, Walter Caughel, Gary (Christine) Caughel, and Roy (Kathy) Caughel; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by siblings, Daniel Caughel and Carolyn Yake. A funeral service will be held at Brown City Missionary Church on Friday, August 16, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Senior Pastor Rick Fledderjohann will officiate.
