Charles Richard Niver

Charles Richard Niver was born on August 28, 1932 in Newberry Michigan to Rex and Amelia (Horn) Niver.  He grew up and attended school in Newberry with his brother, Robert and sister Mary. After high school Charles would join the United States Army and would serve until being honorably discharged.  Upon being discharged Charles would utilize the GI Bill to attend Michigan Tech and would go on to earn his bachelor’s degree in science forestry.  After college he began a career in US Forest Service until his retirement. He married Sharon in 1961 and they were blessed with four children, however, they eventually divorced. Throughout his life, Chuck enjoyed wood working, making beautiful clocks and grandfather clocks. Chuck’s faith was a very important part of his life and he regularly attended St. Boniface Parish in Sublimity. Chuck passed away on August 10, 2019 in Stayton, Oregon. He is preceded in death by two of his children, he is survived by his two sons, Michael of Salem and Timothy of Hillsboro; grandchildren, James, Jeremy, Matthew, Nicole and Justin; great grandchildren, Milo, Malachi, Desmond, Ezekial, Audreyana and Adilyn. A mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 AM on Friday, August 16, 2019 at St. Boniface Parish with placement at Cemetery of Holy Angels to follow. Weddle Funeral Service entrusted with arrangements.
