Donald Mauldin Obituary

Donald Mac “Moe” Mauldin of Robert Lee, Texas, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019 at the age of 87. He was born August 8, 1932 to James Barney Mauldin and Thelma McDonald Mauldin in Jonesboro, Texas. He was the youngest of five children. He moved with his family to Coke County, Texas, in 1939 and attended Robert Lee ISD graduating from high school in 1951. On June 12, 1952, he married the love of his life, Melba Rives. Moe was in the US Army from 1953 to 1955, then in the automobile business in San Angelo, Texas for many years before moving back to Robert Lee, Texas to farm and ranch. He leaves to mourn him: His wife of 67 years – Melba Rives Mauldin Children – Donald G. Mauldin and wife Leslie of Montgomery, Texas Jana Smith & husband Randy of Robert Lee, TX Grandchildren: Dane Smith & wife Kim of Robert Lee, TX Rob Smith of San Angelo, TX Kristi Stalvey & husband Russell of Greenwood, TX Kimberly Ellis & husband Kyle of Brownwood, TX Laura Smith of Midland, TX Great Grandchildren: Kayla McFarden, Abbigayle Smith, Hadlee Stalvey, Ammileigh Smith, Kenna Ellis, Major Smith, Kelton Ellis, Whitlee Stalvey, Cane Smith, Kate Ellis, & Gehrig Smith Sister: Betty Lammers of Houston, TX Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews And four step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, J.B. Mauldin, and two sisters, Olene Sims and Wanda Smith. Visitation was held at Shaffer Funeral Home in Robert Lee, Texas, on Sunday afternoon, August 11, 2019. Graveside Services were held at Robert Lee Cemetery, Monday morning, August 12, 2019 officiated by William “Pistol” Hood. The Family wishes to thank the staff of San Angelo Hospice for their loving care for the months prior to his passing.
