Charles "Chuck" Coots

Charles Bents (Chuck) Coots, 71, of Big Creek, KY, passed away Tuesday, August 6th, at his home. Chuck was born in Reading, PA on July 27, 1948, a son of Edna (Vernon) Coots and the late Charlie Coots. He was a US Army Veteran and a KY Colonel. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline (Gay) Coots; his mother, Edna Coots of Manchester; his two sons: Charles Jeffery Coots and wife Meshell of Jackson, KY and Jonathan Eric Coots and wife Carlene of Big Creek, KY; and by his daughter, Christina Suzanne Caldwell and husband Rodney Corbett of Big Creek, KY. Chuck is also survived by two brothers: Rev. Billy Edward Coots and wife Shirley of Grove City, OH and David Coots and wife Becky of London, KY; by his grandchildren: Danielle Hope Brandenburg, Jeffery Alexander Coots, Charles Matthew Coots, Jarrod Thomas Coots, Jonathan Tyler Coots, Eric Ryan Coots and Aiden Corbett Caldwell; and by two great grandchildren: John Luke Coots and Hallie Grace Coots. In addition to his father, Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, Everett C. Coots. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery South East in Hyden, KY. Visitation will be held 6:00 PM on Friday, August 9th at The Joy Center in Big Creek, KY. Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 10th at The Joy Center in Big Creek, KY, with Larry Stubblefield and Jonathan Eric Coots officiating. Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 12th at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery South East in Hyden, KY. Britton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
