Dr. William Robert Thomas Dr. William Robert Thomas, 70, of Parkersburg passed away August 6, 2019 at the Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV. He was born on July 6, 1949 in South Charleston, WV a son of the late Robert C. and Ruby Bostick Thomas. Reverend Thomas served as pastor for many churches including First Baptist Church, Norristown, PA, Newark Baptist Church, Newark, DE, First Baptist Church, Somerville, NJ, Emmanuel Baptist Church, Parkersburg, WV. He also served many interim pastorates in Parkersburg, Glenville, Spencer, Ripley and West Union and also was Chaplain of Amedisys. He is survived by his wife Mary E. Deck Thomas; four children, Alicia D. (Eric) Duranti and son Jacob all of Washington, WV, W. Curtis (Kim) Thomas and son William all of Parkersburg, Wesley R. (Crystal) Thomas and children, Samantha, Sophia and Jackson all of Jacksonville, TX, Rachel I. (Brock) Kuryl-Champine and children Zoe and Olivia all of Coral Springs, FL; and one sister, Elizabeth Marshall of Charleston, WV. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 10, 2019, 11:00 am at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1710 23rd Street, Parkersburg, WV. Visitation will be held Friday, August 9, 2019, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Leavitt Funeral Home, of Parkersburg, WV and Saturday 10:00 - 11:00 am at the church.
