Lola M. Stubblefield, age 93, of Heritage Health in Jacksonville, Il. and formerly of Waverly, Il. died early Tuesday morning (August 6, 2019) at Heritage Health. She was born March 23, 1926 in Waverly, Il. daughter of the late William Earnest and Marian F. Ashbaugh Armstrong. She married Olin “Stub” Stubblefield on June 1, 1944 in Loami, Il. and he preceded her in death on February 13, 1997. Surviving are her daughters, Connie Points and Lynn Burns (Jim) all of Waverly, Il.; five grandchildren, Dee McCarty (Dave) of Virden, Il., Kevin Burns of Waverly, Il., Doug Burns (Lori) of Thayer, Il., Randy Long of Waverly, Il., and Eric Long of Jacksonville, Il.; seven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kelsey, Audrey, Shelby, Haley, Lee, and Aiden; two great-great grandchildren, Klayton, and Kayne; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Peggy Long; a granddaughter, Marissa Long; a sister, Mary McLaughlin; and one brother, William “Bill” Armstrong. Lola was a graduate of Waverly High School in Waverly, Il. Lola was a homemaker and helped her husband Stub farm north of Waverly, Il. for many years. She was a member of the Waverly United Methodist Church; the Order of the Eastern Star, and TIE Club and BA Club both in Waverly. Lola loved to crochet, bowl, and play cards. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday (August 9, 2019) at Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Waverly, Il. Burial will be in Waverly East Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
