Ms Jimmie Blake Varner -GFH

Rivervale- Ms Jimmie Blake Varner, 79, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born November 28, 1939 in Black Oak to the late Claude Thomas and Laura Lucille Blake Varner. She spent her entire life dedicated to managing her family’s farm. She also appreciated keeping up with current political and world events and found joy when she had the opportunity to visit with friends about the past. While Jimmie preferred giving gifts rather that receiving them, she enjoyed participating in the publishers clearing house. She was always thoughtful of others and delighted in giving gifts to those she cared about. Christmas, birthdays, graduations, and weddings were always remembered and celebrated by Jimmie through a card or gift, which exemplified her heart to others. She was a member of the Lepanto Church of Christ. She is survived by her caretakers, Shay Graddy, Leah George and the Whitley family. Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 pm Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette. A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Gregg Funeral Home with Eddie Dunigan officiating. Interment will follow at Mangrum Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers, Bishop Whitley, Jax Whitley, Aaron Lilies, Blake Hawkins and Daniel Grubbs. Lasting memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children Research Hospital or Lepanto Church of Christ or the Children’s Home in Paragould or Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.
