He was born September 30, 1948 to Robert and Kathryn Downes. <br /><br />He is survived by his better half, Kim Allen of Marble Hill; children, Joe Downes of South Carolina, Lisa and Tracy Cox of Jasper, Angie Downes of Jasper, Daniel and Charmagne Dean of Jasper, David and Shannah Dean of Woodstock; sisters, Patricia Johnson of Jasper, Linda Collins of LaVernia, Texas, Becky Lonidier of Colfax, Louisiana; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. <br /><br />The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home and Crematory, Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. <br /><br />A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2019 in the Roper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ben Mock officiating. <br /><br />Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory. <br /><br />Online condolences may be made at www.roperfuneralhome.com.<br />Obituary
