Paulisan C. Flatley

Paulisan C. Flatley, 69 of Forked River, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born to the late John Malmstrom and Elaine Stroman Malmstrom on February 28, 1950 in Paterson, New Jersey. Paulisan was a devoted mother, loving wife and trusted friend. In her youth, she was a proud member of the St. Brendan’s Cadets of Clifton & the St. Lucy’s Cadets of Newark. She was a graduate of Eastside High School in Paterson NJ & a graduate of Edward Williams College of Teaneck NJ. She enjoyed her employment at the Ocean County Board of Health & Harrah’s of Atlantic City until her retirement in 2014. Paulisan was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys! Paulisan was a member of many different churches during her lifetime and Loved God and knew He was saving her a seat at His Table. She was a very strong and independent woman. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Paulisan is predeceased by her parents Elaine and George Day& John Malmstrom, husband, Vincent Flatley; and brother, George Day; and sister, Barbara Day. Paulisan is survived by her daughter, Dawn D’Alessandro and her husband Eugene of Forked River; grandchildren, Angelina and Sydney D’Alessandro , brother, Halstead Day and his partner Tina Barber of Melbourne, Florida; cousins, Thomas M. Rulka and his wife Nancy of Toms River, Cathy Ann Wetzel and her husband George of Toms River. A Memorial Gathering will be held Friday, July 26, 2019 from 5pm to 7pm at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 706 Atlantic City Blvd, Bayville, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Paulisan’s honor to The American Cancer Society or David’s Dream and Believe Foundation.
