Janice Curtiss

Janice Curtiss, born on November 9, 1934, in Newark, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026.

A vibrant force in her community, Janice was an avid reader, a lover of music and dance, and a talented semi-professional actress who loved the stage and excelled on it. She was deeply woven into the fabric of Manasquan’s social life, where she regularly attended exercise classes, served on the board of the Manasquan Senior Citizens, and coordinated their favorite outings to the Shore Club. She also brought her leadership and heart to the community as a past President of the Elks Ladies Auxiliary. Janice will long be remembered for her outgoing personality, her joyful spirit, and a lifetime of service—a beautiful legacy of giving back that she proudly passed down to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Central to Janice’s life was her deep and unwavering Catholic faith. As a dedicated parishioner of St. Denis Catholic Church, she found great comfort in her daily devotion; until her hospitalization, she dedicated every single evening to praying the rosary and watching Mass on television.

Family and friendship were Janice's greatest blessings. She is survived by her four devoted sons, Eugene, Jeffrey, Tommy, and Dennis, alongside many beloved daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her younger sister, Eileen, who resides in Florida, and her two dearest friends, Pauline Evans of Manasquan and Nora Tikkanen of Jackson, NJ. Janice is now reunited in peace with her beloved son, Eddie, who passed away from cancer in 2018.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Denis Parish in Manasquan at a later date.
