Corrine Catherine Miller, of Delmar, Iowa, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026.

Corrine was born on December 24, 1928, in Springbrook, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Ludvina (Weis) Mootz. She attended Springbrook Catholic school.  She was united in marriage to John LeRoy Miller on November 8, 1949, at St. Peter and Paul’s Church in Springbrook. Together they had seven daughters and built a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and service to others.

Faith was the foundation of Corrine's life. A devoted member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Delmar since 1960, she faithfully attended Mass for many years and gently reminded family members to say their prayers. Her unwavering faith guided her daily life and shaped the values she passed on to future generations.

Corrine believed strongly in personal responsibility and was known for her remarkable work ethic. Whether tending the garden, caring for chickens, milking cows by hand, or preparing meals for family and friends, she found joy in serving others. Her homemade breads, cinnamon rolls, and baked goods were a specialty and became treasured family traditions.

A trusted source of wisdom and advice, Corrine could always be counted on during difficult times. Though she never drove a car, she never hesitated to remind her drivers to check the gas tank and the expiration date of their driver’s license. Her home was always open, welcoming family, friends, and neighbors alike.

Family was the center of Corrine's world. She especially treasured visits from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved writing letters and sending cards, mailing more than 100 Christmas cards each year for many years. She also enjoyed baking and correspondence with family and friends. At age 67, she took her first airplane trip to Florida, creating a memory she often cherished.

Those who knew Corrine best will remember her as being a kind, caring soul,who was dependable, wise, compassionate, humble, generous, and unforgettable. Her life touched countless people through her willingness to help others, share her knowledge, and offer a warm welcome to everyone she met.

She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Herb) Curl of Maquoketa, Jacalyn (Bob) Eberhart, Lou Ann (Daryl) Eberhart of Delmar, Vicki Schmitt of Janesville, Wisconsin, DaVonne (Joseph) Eberhart of Delmar, Jane Marie Miller of Dubuque, and Nancy (Dave) Kloft of Maquoketa; her sister, Lois Portz of Wheatland; brothers, LeeRoy Mootz of Monticello and Harold Mootz of Bellevue; sisters-inlaw, Bernice Mootz of DeWitt and Vennetta Mootz of Preston, 13 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 14 step-great-grandchildren, 2 step-great-great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Miller on February 25, 1991; sister, Esther Mootz; brothers, Eugene Mootz and Emil Mootz; grandson Benjamin(BJ)  Eberhart; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 noon at the church. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Delmar.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. The family will honor Corrine's generous spirit by directing memorial contributions to several charities that were meaningful to her.
