Leta Imogene Halsted Obituary

Leta Imogene (Parks) Halsted, 97, of Pottsville, died Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Baptist Regional Medical Center in Conway. She was born August 6, 1928, in Imo, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Silas Washington Parks and Ila Cordelia (Godfrey) Parks.


She loved working on the farm at whatever needed to be done: gardening, canning, cooking, sewing, quilting, or working with her flowers. She also loved to go to Church. She taught Sunday School anywhere she was needed, cleaned the church, or whatever her hands could find to do.


She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl Halsted; and a son, Freddy Halsted.


She is survived by her children, Ronnie Halsted (Judy) and Bonita Halsted; and a daughter-in-law, Rita Halsted; grandchildren, Lonnie Halsted (Lori), Elaine Kirkendall (Ray), all of Pottsville, Stephanie Halsted and Amy McCoy (Michael), all of Prairie Grove, and Tanner Johnson (Andrea) of Pottsville; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Kirkendall, Amanda Kirkendall, Elizabeth Subia, Wyatt Halsted, Ava McCoy and  Allison McCoy; and 2 great-great-grandchildren, Ruby Mae Subia and Malachi Kirkendall.


Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 25, at Lemley Chapel with Bro. Michael Brandon and Bro. Anthony Duvall officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, at Lemley Chapel. Burial is in Pisgah Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.


Pallbearers are Terry “Cowboy” Davis, Phillip Tietz, Thomas Qualls, Bill Harmon, Lloyd Duvall, Sr., and Eric Monaghen. Honorary pallbearers are Rickey Pruitt, J.R. and Cindy Perez, and Annette Couch.
