Frank was called home to heaven on July 18, 2026, surrounded by love, peace, and prayer. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Frank George Kelbel Sr. and Catherine Kelbel, Frank was the oldest of four siblings and shared a lifelong bond with his brothers, Craig (Kathy) and Dundee (Amanda), and his sister, Dana (Mike).
Frank married the love of his life, Pam, in 1992, and together they built a life centered on genuine, unwavering love and being each other's biggest support system. He was the best dad to Brenna (Joe), Courtney, Kelly (Tony), Claire, Shane, and Kyle, and one of his greatest joys was being "Papa" to Connor, Layla, Gigi, and Katerina.
Generosity and spirituality were some of his most strongly held values. He dedicated his life to helping those closest to him become the best versions of themselves and he showed God's love through the way he cared for the people around him. Frank had a remarkable gift for making friends wherever he went. His laugh, generous heart, and big personality made people feel like they belonged. Frank never met a stranger, always curious about another person's story. In return, he liked to share his own, and he could really spin a tale.
Frank especially loved golfing and an early morning tee time at Western Lakes Golf Club. He enjoyed going for boat rides and, later in life, loved racing his slot cars like he did in his earlier years. He was particular about his steak au poivre. Mountain Dew and banana popsicles were steady companions. Opus One was a favorite treat, alongside Leon's custard and Pam's poppy seed cake. And he loved to share it all.
His family will forever treasure the moments that defined a life so well lived: blasting music during fast boat rides, lying on his stomach with a pillow while playing with Brenna and Claire, getting lost in Hawaii with Courtney after dinner, the phone calls that always seemed to come at just the right time, sipping piña coladas by the ocean and talking about life with Tony, Kelly, and Pam, playing rounds of golf with Claire, cheering at Panther basketball games, his reassuring hand squeezes, and making sure everyone knew he "loves them infinity." These moments, along with countless others, are the legacy of a man who loved deeply and lived fully.
While Frank took some favorite trips over the years, from Hawaii to Turks and Caicos to boat rides to Chicago and loved to curate a memorable event when we all got together, his favorite adventure was always the moment he was in, including the last ones surrounded by the people he loved.
Relatives and friends may join the family on Monday, August 3, at GOOD SHEPHERD CATHOLIC CHURCH, N88 W17658 Christman Rd., Menomonee Falls, from 9-10:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM.
