Daniel Arthur White Obituary

Daniel A. White, 82, of Gloucester, passed away July 15, 2026 at Addison Gilbert Hospital surrounded by his family and friends. Son of the late Lester and Mary Keziah (Carr) White and widower to the late Patricia (Tucker) White, Daniel was born and raised in Gloucester. He was a graduate of the GHS class of 1962 and went on to serve in the United States Army during Vietnam from 1965 to 1967.

Raised in East Gloucester Square where he forged beautiful lifelong friendships that remained pivotal in his adult life with Dave & Maryann Amero, Grace & Rosie Schraft, Sherrie Somers, Dave & Eileen Halverson, his dear brother-in-law Paul Tucker and so many more friends from the class of ’62 that he enjoyed seeing at their monthly lunches.

Dan & Pat built a wonderful life and career in San Diego where he became a leader in the field of cable construction as a telecom contractor managing several noteworthy projects like the wiring of the Queen Mary, Disneyland Hotel and many more. Although he did not pursue his original dream of becoming an architect, his love for mid-century modern homes were a constant and toured many a open house to get a peek and read every Frank Loyd Wright book written. Ever fascinated with FLR, he visited many of his properties and at one point almost purchased one. After retirement, Dan and Pat were in Venice, FL before returning home to Gloucester in 2019.

Dan was a lively storyteller and unassumingly intellectual thinker who loved to read, listen to music and collect art.

Early in life, Dan enjoyed sailing, but his true passion was golf. He had a plethora of stories about his talent on the golf course and on the baseball field which may or may not have been exaggerated and he absolutely loved it when someone would corroborate his triumphs.

Daniel is survived by: His daughter Nicole and her husband Anthony Tosi of Milford, NH; his stepson Robert MacDonald and his husband Tad Bratten of San Diego, CA ; his stepdaughter Sandra and her husband Anthony White of Gloucester; his brother and best friend Tony and his wife Joreen of Rockport; his brother Marty and his wife Tish of Bennington, NH; his sister Jane and her late husband Phil Demetri of Gloucester; his Brother-in-Law Paul and his wife Patty of Portland, OR, his brother-in-Law- Jesse Francis and his wife Grace of FL and his grandchildren: Luca and Monina Tosi, Stacey Albano, Amanda Bertolino, Erica Higgins and Marissa White along with 8 great grandchildren all of whom he adored.

Services for Daniel will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, MA. Information, directions, condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com.
