Marilyn Jean Ballard (nee Izzo), born on May 9, 1934, passed away on July 21, 2026, at the age of 92. Marilyn was the loving daughter of Joseph and Gussie Izzo (nee Indovina); cherished mother of Mary Beth (Ken) Frystak, Honorable Mark J. Ballard (Ret.), Patti Jo Ballard, Chari (Rob) Bauer, the late Lynn Ballard, and the late Brian Ballard; devoted grandmother of 10 and great grandmother of 9. Marilyn was a 70 year resident of Edgebrook and an active parishioner of Queen of All Saints Basilica, where she formed innumerable lasting friendships. Marilyn enjoyed participating in a variety of social clubs and community groups. A visitation will be held Sunday, July 26, from 4-8PM at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, July 27 at 10AM at Queen of All Saints Basilica, 6280 N. Sauganash, Chicago.
