Candace Jean Patrick, 79, of Urbana, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Springfield Regional Medical Center.

Candace was born on July 27, 1946, in Champaign County, Ohio, to Donald Foster Markin and Ruth A. (Cottrell) Markin.

She graduated from West Liberty High School in 1964 before attending beauty school in Springfield, Ohio. Candace worked as a hairstylist for 25 years before beginning a career on the assembly line at Honda, where she worked for another 25 years until her retirement.

Candace enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family. Her greatest joy in life was being with those she loved, and her family was her greatest treasure.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristen Patrick; her son, Creighton (Danielle) Patrick; her grandchildren, Jordan Ragland, Daniel Patrick, Brinlee Patrick, Isaiah Waggoner-Campbell, and McKenzie Waggoner-Campbell; sister-in-law, Jackie Markin; her nieces and nephews, Chris (Jeanette) Jenkins, Shawna (Butch) Suchland, Teri (Todd) Woodruff, and Andy (Christy) Markin; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Candace was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Linda (Carl) Jenkins; and her brother, Jim Markin.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana.

A funeral service will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Brown officiating.
