Dorothy M. King, a resident of Fishkill, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, at the Fishkill Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. She was 82 years old.
Born on October 1, 1943, in Dublin, Georgia, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Smith and Missouri Jenkins.
On April 4, 1973, she married Richard Edward King, who predeceased her in 2008. Dorothy enjoyed a long career as a construction coordinator with Bell Atlantic and later retired from Verizon in Queens.
She is survived by her daughter, Lybbia Cabello and her husband, Jon; her grandchildren, Isaiah Cabello and Jocelynn Cabello; and her great-granddaughter, Evangeline (Sanderlin) Cabello.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Richard, Dorothy was predeceased by her sisters, Ruby Lee Holder and Beverly Jones.
In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, services will be held privately for her family.
