Shirley Ann Taylor Obituary

Shirley Ann Taylor of Weston passed away on Monday July 20th, 2026 in the comfort of her home on Freemans Creek Rd under the care of hospice surrounded by her loved ones. She fought with courage and bravery with a terminal illness that was a long battle.


She was born in Logan County, WV on August 9th, 1952: daughter of the late Paul R. Beer Sr. and Zula E. (Woods) Beer. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one brother Samuel Ray Beer, also her former husband Earlin W. Lowther and grandson Bryson W. Sims.


Forever cherishing her memories is her husband Dwight David Taylor (Dee). She married Dwight Aug 27th, 2004. Their union lasted over 21 years marked with love understanding and mutual respect.


Also, forever cherishing her memories are her 2 children (son) Earlin (Rueben) Lowther with his wife Jessica, grandchildren: Elizabeth (Libby, Rueben David (RD,) Darius, Byron, and Grayson all of Lewis County.

Daughter (Rose) Ann Hayhurst and her husband Davy, grandchildren: Thomas, Charity, Victoria, and Brenden, great granddaughter: Renesmee Rose, all of Upshur County.


Shirley was very proud of all her grandchildren. She had a very special bond of love with each and every one of them. She is also survived by 3 sisters and a brother. Zula Mae Parmer and companion Paul Cooper, Pearl Ruth Gower and her husband David, and Elsie Jane Riley and husband Melvin Riley and her brother Paul R. Beer and wife Susan (Sue).


She is also survived by one aunt Thelma Gibson Williams, with several nieces and nephews and lots of cousins.


Shirley was a caregiver, she worked at the old Weston State Hospital in Weston for 13 years, and also at Holbrook Nursing Home in Buckhannon for 20 years. She was well known for her pride and dedication in her jobs and in her home. She was devoted to all whom she cared for. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all.


Family and friends with gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue on Saturday, July 25th,2026 from 11 a.m. until 1.p.m. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Wease Day officiating.
