Tyshaun Lamount Hawkins Obituary
In Loving Memory of Tyshaun Lamont Hawkins
Tyshaun Lamont Hawkins, the only child of Deborah Hawkins and Kim Torres, was born on February 20, 1975, in Plainfield, New Jersey. After a life filled with family, friends, love, and laughter, he peacefully answered God's call and entered eternal rest on July 4, 2026.
Tyshaun attended Plainfield High School, the Governor's School of Public Issues and the Future of New Jersey program. He volunteered at the Plainfield Rescue Squad for several years and was promoted to Captain. Thereafter he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Engineering from Princeton University.
He devoted many years working in Tallahassee, Florida in the technology field. Although life presented hardships, Tyshaun met them with remarkable resilience and grace. He returned to New Jersey and continued working in the technology field. Though his health changed his life, he rarely complained. Instead, he endured with quiet strength, dignity, and perseverance.
To know Tyshaun was to know compassion. He was a patient listener, witty, and a source of wisdom for family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to cross his path. He had a gift for storytelling and freely shared his life experiences. His perspective and sense of purpose left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Tyshaun also knew how to enjoy life's simple pleasures. He loved technology, politics, movies, cooking, and spending time with friends and could often be found at his computer.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rufus Hawkins and Mamie Hawkins; uncles Sherwood Hawkins, Marvin Hawkins, Kenneth Hawkins; and aunt Cheryl Hawkins.
Tyshaun leaves behind beautiful moments to be treasured by his mother, Deborah Hawkins; uncles Larry Hawkins and Darris Hawkins; aunts Winnifred (Bashir) Saunders, Evangeline Collins, and Gwendolyn Hawkins, along with a host of cousins. Tyshaun also cherished his three Godchildren, Alexa, Bianca, and Nathan.
Hartmann, extended family members, and friends who will forever treasure his memory.
Though our hearts are saddened by his passing, we rejoice in the life Tyshaun lived and the memories he leaves behind. He loved deeply, listened compassionately, and found joy in family and friends.
Although he has finished his earthly race, his legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. We find comfort in knowing that he has been restored to perfect peace and reunited with loved ones who have gone before him. His love, wisdom, and strength will continue to guide us until we meet again.
Let the family know you care by leaving your condolences, favorite memories and thoughts and prayers on the Tribute Wall.
