George H. Getty, Jr. 69 - went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 14, 2026. He was a lifelong resident of Egg Harbor Township and a graduate of Absegami High School, Class of 1975. Born in Somers Point, he was the son of the late George and Dora (Holst) Getty.

George enjoyed playing football and baseball in High School and in later years, softball on the church softball team. He also became a 5th degree blackbelt in Taekwondo and later became a Kempo instructor. He also enjoyed golf. In his early years, he was a groundskeeper along with his father at the Seaview Country Club in Galloway. George went on to pursue a career in the printing business. Starting off as a service rep., installing printing presses along the East Coast and then working for various businesses in the industry, such as Diddi Graphics, Erich Printing, D & B Printing and the Press of Atlantic City. When he wasn't running the press, he was fixing the machinery, getting the press to run full steam. He was very mechanically inclined and there wasn't anything he couldn't fix. Because of this, he was a jack of all trades, working as a roofer, electrician, hotel maintenance person, machine mechanic and auto mechanic. His last job was with Integrity Medical Devices Inc., in Hammonton, New Jersey.

He was a member of and helped build and maintain what is now Faith Bible Baptist Church on Ocean Heights Avenue in Egg Harbor Township. He faithfully served The Lord there in many capacities over the years; Choir Member, Sunday School Teacher, Head Deacon, Youth Group Pastor/Leader, VBS helper/actor, Substitute Pastor and Kempo Instructor. George loved serving The Lord and always expressed how blessed he was to have his family serving with him and supporting him in his ministry at the church.

George was predeceased in death by his parents and two sisters, Dorothy Kelly and Nancy Peck. He is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Patricia (Cray) Getty and his six children, Patricia (Seth) Couchoud, Melissa, George III, Samuel, Zechariah (Abigail) and Sarah Getty; grandson, Logan Getty; siblings, Bill Getty, Kathy Sear and Eleanor Dodd along with many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 12:00pm at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield. Family and friends are invited to visit the family prior to services from 10am to 12pm. Interment will be at Seaside Cemetery, Marmora. Repass following at Faith Bible Baptist Church, 2063 Ocean Heights Avenue, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234
