KENNETH R. BAUM

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth R. Baum, age 78, of Pequannock, NJ. Ken passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026. Born in Paterson, he grew up in Waldwick and resided in Allendale before moving to Pequannock 20 years ago.

A graduate of Waldwick High School, Ken received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Fairleigh Dickinson. He was employed as an accountant for several companies; Price Waterhouse, Grand Union and most recently Annin Flagmakers in Roseland, prior to his retirement in 2019. Ken was a member, former deacon, and elder of the Clifton Congregation of the Netherlands Reformed Church.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol (Van Der Weile), by three children, Steven Baum and wife, Karen of Pequannock, Cathy L. Okken and husband, Craig of Sparta, and Brian E. Baum of Sewickly, PA, and by nine grandchildren, Karina, Evan, Nolan, Owen and Austin Baum, Emma, Shannon, Callie and Hanna Okken. Ken is predeceased by his brother, Allan Baum.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Road, Clifton followed by burial at the First Reformed Church Cemetery in Pompton Plains. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-8 PM at Allwood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Netherlands Reformed Church, 50 Third Street, Clifton, NJ 07011 or the Netherlands Reformed Christian School, 164 Jacksonville Road, Pompton Plains, NJ 07444 would be appreciated.
