With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mr. Gregory Keith Lanier, age 55, of Tallapoosa, GA, who was reunited with his son, Daniel, on July 17, 2026.

Greg was born August 9, 1970 in Carrollton, GA to his parents, Larry Lanier and Betty Jo Davis Lanier. He graduated from Haralson County High School with the Class of 1989. Greg was kind hearted, always willing to help anyone who needed it. He was a member of Tallapoosa First Baptist Church and also attended West View Missionary Baptist Church. He was an avid Alabama fan and deeply devoted to his family as a son, brother, uncle, and most importantly a father. Greg was an incredible father to his boys and caring for them was what mattered most.

Greg is survived by his son, Travis Lanier, of Anniston, AL; parents, Larry and Betty Jo Lanier; sister and brother in law, Melissa and Alton Stamey, all of Tallapoosa; brother and sister in law, Jeff and Laylani Lanier, of Valrico, FL; nieces and nephews, Leslie McWhorter, Caiden Watkins, Dani McWhorter, Mia McWhorter, and DJ McWhorter; and close friends and their children, Kevin and Alexis Hunt and Karman, Brantley, and Aubrey.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 3:00PM in the Miller Funeral Home Dogwood Chapel with Dr. Roland Brown, Rev. Jason Hatchett, and Rev. Alton Stamey officiating. Music will be provided by Hayden Lanier, Keaton Lanier, and Kenley Lanier. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Hayden Lanier, Kevin Hunt, Kerry Hunt, Marshall Rierson, DJ McWhorter, Keaton Lanier, and Jason Lanier. Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery.

Greg’s family will receive friends in the Dogwood Chapel on Tuesday from 1:00PM until the funeral hour.
