Robert “Bob” Lizenbee, son of the late Fred Lizenbee and Ella Hoss Lizenbee, was born on May 15, 1938, in Risco, Missouri, and departed this life on July 17, 2026, at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 88 years.

Mr. Lizenbee was a former carpenter. He was a member and honorary deacon at Friendship Baptist Church in Dexter and a resident of Dexter.

He was first united in marriage to Margaret “Mae” Williams on April 4, 1959. Mrs. Mae Lizenbee preceded him in death in August of 1990. On February 14, 1991, in Riverside, California, he was then united in marriage to Natalie Elisary . Mrs. Natalie Lizenbee survives of their home in Dexter.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his son, Robert Keith Lizenbee of Mineral Point, Missouri; by two daughters, Karen Smith and husband Rick of Wharton, Texas, and Kim Backfisch and husband John of Zalma, Missouri; and by ten grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Other than by his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Suzy Nave and Becky Humberd; by nine brothers and sisters; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Jimmy Lemonds and Rev. Lonny Mittag officiating. Interment will follow in Bernie Cemetery.
