Dennis was a dedicated member of Brighton Volunteer Ambulance (BVA) for more than 35 years, serving in numerous leadership and operational roles, including Director of Operations, member of the Board of Directors, and President of the Board of Directors.

Throughout his years of service, he also served as a Certified First Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Life Support provider, Medic, and Driver. Dennis devoted countless hours to BVA, providing compassionate care and unwavering service to the greater Rochester community.

In addition to his work with BVA, Dennis served for more than 10 years on the Town of Brighton Zoning Board of Appeals, continuing his long-standing commitment to public service and his local community.

Dennis was a Certified Property Manager and licensed real estate broker who owned and operated Park Centre Properties, managing more than 100 properties throughout Western New York.

Dennis enjoyed spending summers at his cottage on Canandaigua Lake and was a devoted fan of the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Whitney Mietz of NY; his sister, Judy Dawson (Frank) of Maryland; his nieces and nephew, Kerry (Eddie) Dawson Rupp, Frankie (Grant) Dawson Henry, of Maryland, and Drew (Sarah) Dawson, of Wisconsin; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jackson, Gigi, and Johnny Rupp, and Rory Henry.

Calling hours will be Monday, July 20, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Anthony Funeral Chapel (2305 Monroe Avenue, Brighton). A memorial service with procession will be held Tuesday, July 21, at 10:00 a.m. at White Haven Memorial Park’s All Seasons Chapel, with graveside burial immediately following.
