Kenneth "Kenny" Flora Obituary
NEW PALESTINE – Kenneth “Kenny” Flora, age 96, of New Palestine, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Woodland Terrace of New Palestine. He was born in Indianapolis on July 31, 1929, to Kenneth Edward and Edna Beatrice (Arvin) Flora. Kenneth attended Arsenal Technical High School. He served in the Army for 2 years. He married Virginia (Hall) on December 2, 1967. Kenneth worked for Western Electric as a Program Planner for several years before retiring. He was a member of Cumberland Christian Church, where he served as a greeter and under shepherd. Kenny will be deeply missed by his family who loved him dearly.
He is survived by his children, Terri Stuart, Tammy (Brian) Gannon, Kenneth J. (Abbey) Flora, and Tonya (Jeff Piel) Perkins; four grandchildren, Kyle (Kelsey) Stuart, Lindsay Stuart, Cammy Flora, and Alex Mohr; and five great-grandchildren, Shane Pennington, Silas Pennington, Kaia, Kendal, and Kannon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Edna Flora; wife, Virginia Flora; and sister, Shirley Hayes.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Cumberland Christian Church, 39 N. Starter St., Cumberland, IN 46229. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Tom Scott will be officiating. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis where military honors will be rendered.
