Gary Wayne Grigg, 63, of Urbana, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 12th, 2026.

He was born on March 8, 1963, in Hilliard, Ohio, to the late Edna (Timmons) Grigg.

Gary was a loving husband, father, papaw, and friend who never met a stranger. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed spending time fishing and mushroom hunting whenever he had the chance. A gifted handyman and craftsman, Gary was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether it was tackling a project or solving a problem.

Known as the life of every gathering, Gary loved cracking jokes, firing up the grill, and turning up his favorite Billy Thorpe songs on the radio. When it was time to relax, he could often be found spending time with his good friend John or cheering on the Chicago Bears and Ohio State football. A lifelong automobile enthusiast, he collected die-cast cars, especially those honoring his favorite NASCAR driver, Dale Earnhardt.

Above all else, Gary will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, his generous heart, and the love he shared with those around him. As his family lovingly describes him, he was "a stand-up guy and, above all else, a certified badass."

He is survived by his beloved wife, Tina Lynn (Ritchie) Grigg; his daughter, Katelyn (Jonah) Brun; his sons, Christopher (Shelli) Ritchie and Hunter (Kayla) Grigg; his five cherished grandchildren, Nathan Ritchie, Kyndal Ritchie, Jamie Grigg, Ellie Grigg, and Evie Grigg; sister-in-laws, Mary Ritchie and Nina Ritchie; brother-in-law, Donald Ritchie; Aunt Betty and Uncle Bob; along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Grigg; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Marcy Ritchie; his grandma Tims, and his good friend, Joe Weaver, as well as other family members.

A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
