A. Yvonne Bailkey Anderson, 95, passed away on July 7, 2026, in Chetek, Wisconsin, the same community in which she was born and where she spent her final days surrounded by the place she called home.

She was born July 26, 1930 in Chetek Wisconsin , the daughter of Dudley and Myrtle Bailkey.

Yvonne graduated from Chetek High School in 1948 and married V. Gilman Anderson in 1949. Over the years, she worked at Bob’s Grill, Abbott Drug Store, Lutz Drug Store, and later at Langhough Chiropractic. She also babysat for five years. After retirement, she continued to remain active and involved, serving on the board of Lone Oak and participating as a member of HCE, the Homemakers organization and helping as needed at the Advent Christian Church.

Those who knew Yvonne remember a woman who gave generously of her time and her heart. She was loving, generous, and thoughtful, and she lived those qualities in practical ways every day. Whether she was giving rides to friends for appointments and events, joining in Bible study at Lone Oak, or simply sharing a conversation and a smile, she made life better for the people around her. Her faith was not only something she believed, but something she lived.

Yvonne also found great joy in the simple blessings of life. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband and family, and she cherished the time spent playing cards with friends. These moments reflected the warmth of her spirit and the importance she placed on fellowship, family, and shared memories. She understood the value of togetherness, and she created a home and a life where others felt welcome.

She was preceded in death by her husband, V. Gilman Anderson; her son, Rod; her daughter, Gilma Ann, who died shortly after birth; and her brothers and wives Chet and Orpha Bailkey, Glenn and Ona Bailkey, and Meryle and Louise Bailkey and granddaughter Nikolena Colby. She was also preceded in death by many beloved brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, including Art L. Anderson, Ernest and Bernice Anderson, Willis and CeCelia Anderson, Clarence and Alice Anderson, Doris and Lyle Ranney, and Bertha and Walt Pierson.

Yvonne is survived by her daughters, Vicki Clark and Jo Colby; her son-in-law, Scott Colby; her daughter-in-law, Rose Anderson; and her special daughter, Jana Turenne. She leaves behind grandchildren Joseph and Jessica Clark, Michelle Clark, Mitch and Mandy Colby, and Andee Lynn Colby. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Alexis, Chuck, Jameson Clark, Braylon Colby, and Bennett Colby, along with many nieces and nephews who will carry her memory forward with love.

Her family and friends will remember her not only for the roles she filled, but for the way she filled them. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a gift for making people feel cared for, and her life stood as a quiet testimony to faith, service, and compassion.

As her loved ones mourn her passing, they also give thanks for her long and meaningful life. Her example will remain with them, and her presence will be deeply missed. In the Christian hope she embraced, those who loved her may take comfort in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that her earthly journey has given way to peace. Yvonne Anderson will be remembered with gratitude, affection, and enduring love.
