Alan Charles Larrivee passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, after a courageous battle with an aggressive form of

stomach cancer. He faced his illness with remarkable strength, determination, and dignity, fighting courageously until

the very end. His unwavering perseverance reflected the character of the honorable man his family and friends knew

and loved.

Alan was born on December 31, 1958, in Laconia, New Hampshire, to the late J. Richard Larrivee and Rena (Deshaies)

Larrivee. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School before his family relocated to Marshfield, Massachusetts, where he

graduated from Marshfield High School with the Class of 1976.

As a young man, Alan embraced adventure and new beginnings. He first traveled to Oregon with a close friend before

boarding a bus to Maine, determined to reach the Allagash wilderness. He eventually settled in Farmington, where he

began working at Bass Shoe. In 1985, Alan moved his young family to Norway after accepting a position with Pioneer

Plastics in Auburn, where he dedicated 27 years of service. He later joined the Oxford County Sheriff's Office as

Information Technology Director, serving for seven years. Following his retirement, he quickly realized that a life away

from serving others was not for him and returned to work as an Information Technology Specialist for MSAD 17, the

Oxford Hills School District, in 2019. Alan loved his work and the people he worked with. Even as his health declined, he

remained devoted to his responsibilities, determined to ensure every laptop was collected and accounted for at the

close of the school year. And, for more than 30 years, Alan also owned and operated JNPC Services, providing

dependable, trusted computer support to local businesses and countless customers throughout the community.

Alan was a compassionate, humble, and honorable man whose greatest joy came from spending time with those he

loved. He and his wife cherished life's simple pleasures—daily walks together, quiet moments, and traveling with family.

They especially enjoyed adventures with his sister Dee and brother-in-law Phil, as well as visits with his brother Russ and

sister-in-law Mary during their trips to Maine, spending time at Five Islands in Georgetown and taking memorable

vacations to the Grand Canyon and Mexico. Alan also loved hunting and fishing. One of his favorite traditions was trying

to catch a rainbow trout, a special treat for his beloved niece, Kim. Whether enjoying a day at the beach or simply being

surrounded by those he loved, finding happiness in life's ordinary moments.

Alan is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia, of Oxford; his daughters, Nichole Strube and her husband, Josh, and Jillian

McNamara Larrivee and her wife, Erin; his stepson’s Danny Rock and fiancé Ashly Rolfe, and George Curtis, III and fiancé

Miranda Durgin; his cherished grandchildren, Lillian and Kalven Granger, Savannah Rae Scott, Ila Curtis, Eliza Curtis, and

Devin Curtis.

He is also survived by his brother, Russell Larrivee and his wife, Mary, of Ohio; his sister, Denise Steinkrauss and her

husband, Phillip, of New Hampshire; and many beloved nieces and nephews: Kimberly Damon, Cynthia Barnes, Theresa

McDonald, Russell Larrivee Jr., Michael Larrivee, Christina Sgarioni, Paul Larrivee, Thomas Larrivee, Peter Larrivee, John

Larrivee, Catherine Mellon, Matthew Larrivee, and Andrew Larrivee. He is also survived by his Aunt Carol Deshaies; and

cousins - Andrea Deshaies, Renee Tessier, and Danielle Thurber; mother-in-law, Jennie Jacobson; and sister-in-law,

Kathie Delano and husband Dwight.

Alan will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, his selfless dedication to helping others, his steadfast work

ethic, and the quiet strength and integrity with which he lived every day. Though his loss leaves an immeasurable void,

his legacy of kindness, honor, courage, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Calling hours will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Chandler Funeral Homes, 1037 Main

Street (Route 26), Oxford, Maine. A brief prayer service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, followed by

burial and a committal service at 10:00 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery on Watson Road in Norway, Maine. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the "Dean Snell" Cancer Foundation, Topsham, Maine
